Stand 28 - Diesel and Electric Modellers United (DEMU)

"Diesel and Electric Modellers United (DEMU) was formed in 1994 as an independent society catering for all modellers of the railways of Britain and Ireland in the diesel and electric era, regardless of scale or modelling ability. We aim to promote all aspects of this period by exchanging information and ideas in our quarterly magazine 'UPDate', and our members-only web forum, which feature modelling and prototype articles on a wide range of subjects. We have a network of area groups established across Britain that hold regular meetings. We also hold a national annual Showcase where the very best of diesel and electric era railway modelling may be seen.
UPDate, features modelling and prototype articles on a wide range of subjects from the usual locos and stock, through to the more esoteric departmental fleets, infrastructure and operation. We try to cover subjects not normally seen in the mainstream modelling press and aim to be as in depth, informative and as accurate as possible. Realistic and honest reviews of products from a modeller’s perspective also feature, along with trade and society news. In addition, a quarterly newssheet is published keeping members abreast of current Society activities. A scale drawing service is also available to members.
DEMU are also working with various r.t.r. and component manufacturers to supplement their prototype information and provide market research on proposed new products.

Stand 27 - Uplands Railway Museum
We are pleased to be, once again, present at the Bristol Model Railway Exhibition with a display of railwayana and associated items. This year, we have deviated from normal by displaying a diesel locomotive nameplate with local interest, namely 'Bristol Bath Road'. However there will also be a selection of GWR and BR(W) items, many of which have not been displayed before.
We still require items for the collection and would be interested to hear from anyone who has railwayana for sale, whether single items or collections.
